Bishop Dr. Dominicus Meier, OSB, at his first official visit to Thuine
On December 9th, the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Bishop Dr. Dominicus Meier, OSB, visited our Motherhouse for the first time. Superior General Sister Maria Cordis Reiker and a reception committee of additional sisters stood at the entrance to the Motherhouse in the early morning, ready to welcome the bishop and to join him after that for the celebration of a Pontifical High Mass for the occasion of the special feastday in honor of the Mother of God.
Next, he visited and greeted the sisters in our sisters’ nursing home St. Joseph. He affirmed to them that it is just as important to fill the chapel with their prayer as it is to be active. We need both.
A lunch together in the retreat refectory rounded out the heartfelt visit of our Bishop Dominicus. Sister Maria Cordis thanked him with an invitation to feel free to stop by Thuine from time to time. Altogether, it was a lovely, joyful and festive morning.
